Twitter Thursday: Ole Miss

This week’s Twitter Thursday starts off with a freshman big man sharing in my pain as a journalist (who is inherently bad at math because, well, I’m a journalist).

Monday Night Football was all the rage on Twitter as the refs botched a call that cost the Green Bay Packers the game. The Alabama football players made their feelings known. Well known.

We also had a birthday this week, for Alabama forward Nick Jacobs. He went on a retweet spree to celebrate.

He even retweeted and responded to me.

Barrett Jones made a funny. Another funny.

Finally, Alabama celebrated another birthday, fellow big man Carl Engstrom.

Today, I got some information on what the coaching staff does for fun at practice, plus reaction to some comments made by Dre Kirkpatrick and some in-depth detail on the passing game.

Twitter Thursday: Western Kentucky

This is the first of a weekly feature coming to the blog, as every Thursday for the rest of football season (and maybe a little longer), we will go through the world of Twitter and see what select Alabama athletes have decided to share with the Internet.

Some may be complaining about fatigue, others will be just downright funny. Here we go.

First, we have BREAKING NEWS from safety HeSean ‘HaHa’ Clinton-Dix.

Don’t worry, though, teammate Anthony Steen beat you to the punch in the Sarcastic Reply department.

Also, center Barrett Jones was nice enough to let us have a small window into his celebration routine.

Quarterback AJ McCarron also opened up a little poll for his followers (all 22,000+ of them).

Which he ended up answering himself.

There was also a borderline unhealthy obsession with Jesse Williams this week, with numerous fans (and the occasional player) tweeting to him with Chuck Norris jokes about him. For example:

Word of advice: Williams (@ThaMonstar) is quite heavy on the retweets. So, if you want a RT from a ‘Bama football player….

Also, safety Vinnie Sunseri showed off a little brotherly love for his older brother Tino, who will start at QB for Pitt in the ESPN Thursday night game against Cincinnati.

And, as expected, the hype surrounding entering Bryant-Denny Stadium for the first time.
