Saban schedules rematch with Georgia State

To avenge losing the shutout in the previous meeting in 2010, the Alabama Crimson Tide have scheduled a home meeting with the Georgia State Panthers for the 2013 season. The Panthers will visit Tuscaloosa again on Oct. 5, 2013, after losing 63-7 in the 2010 season.

2013 will be Georgia State’s first season without Bill Curry as the head coach, who was hired by the school in 2008 to start its program with its first season in 2010. Curry was the head coach at Alabama from 1987-1989, never beating Auburn in his tenure.

Georgia State will be a member of the FBS when it arrives in Tuscaloosa next season. 2013 will be its first season as a member of the Sun Belt conference, with its first season of bowl eligibility occurring in 2014.

The Panthers scored against Alabama in 2010 by returning the opening kick of the second half for a touchdown.
